Opened in 1983, Buffalo Bill's Brewery in Hayward was America's first brewpub, credited with creating the pumpkin ale style. After a brief closure in 2022, it reopened in August 2023 under new ownership, continuing to serve its signature beers like the Tasmanian Devil imperial ale and seasonal pumpkin ale.
