The interior retains mid-century touches and memorabilia, giving it a nostalgic charm that stands out amid downtown’s modern clubs. Regulars swap stories with proprietor Mike Shapiro (the third-generation owner) and each other – it’s that kind of place. While you won’t find DJs or craft cocktail gimmicks here, you will find one of the best martinis in town. In fact, Char Bar’s martini game is legendary, including their signature twist on the classic chocolate martini, known as the Tuxedo Martini.
